Bliin – The new face of social networking?

Something caught my eye this morning, but after I had removed the arm of my glasses from my eyeball I returned to the BBC website to continue reading about a new social networking service called Bliin (who the hell thinks these names up??)

In a nutshell it uses the GPS capabilities of the newer mobile phone to pinpoint where exactly you are on the globe, how fast you are travelling and allows you to send images straight to the site.

A bloody original idea but I am alone in thinking this is worryingly voyeuristic?

Customer service wins the day again…

Spotted a thread on the Shell forums today about my good mate Steve at Uprint. Turns out a customer had sent him a couple of emails that he had not got replies too. Now I see this a lot. People claim not to have received emails but it’s ended up in junk folders, been accidentally deleted etc, hell I’ve even had to trawl through server logs to prove it was sent but I digress…

What was funny was the way the vultures descended on the thread as an opportunity to nick some business and put the bovver boots in for a good kicking. True to form though Steve rescued the day with a genuine reply and offer that not only saved the customer but also guaranteed he came out smelling of roses. The pink type that is as he likes pink…apparently….

Wonder where the customer will be placing his next order from? Answers on a postcard please, or a business card…flyer… stamp…

Day two…

OK I’ll hold my hands up. I had one cigarette at about 9pm last night. I know it’s no excuse but I put it down to the fact that I put my patch on at midnight last night and therefore wasted 7 odd hours of it by sleeping.

So I waited until 7am this morning for the next patch and should get through tonight a bit better.

I must admit yesterday was seriously tough, I was climbing the walls by that evening. But going from 30/day to zero isn’t supposed to be fun…

And so it begins…

From 12:01am this morning I became a non-smoker for the second time in my life.

I started smoking when I was about 15/16 (terrible I know) and first packed up when I was about 20. I managed to last two years so I know I can do it but life changing events happened and I started the old weed again.

I’ve decided to give up for good purely for health reasons. Nothing to do with money, July 1st (if you’re a brit and you don’t live in a cave you will know why) or anything else, just health. I was getting out of breath typing emails for Gods sake!

OK maybe not that bad but it was getting pretty worrying…

So I have a stock of Nurofen, bottled water, patches and carrots (gotta have something in my hand that isn’t rude) so let’s see how I get on…
